Streamline SMART on Electronic Health Information (EHI) export

Getting started

This documentation is intended to help you make the most of the Streamline SMART on Electronic Health Information (EHI) export. It will guide you through a series of working use cases to help you consume your health resources.

In an effort to make patient data readily available, the following is true of the SmartCare EHI Export Process:

  • Allows for electronic health information export for a single patient or a population at any time without developer assistance in an electronic and computable format
  • This functionality is limited to system administrators and SmartCare users as permissioned by the Streamline customer’s roles and permissions
  • Create an export of all electronic health information of the patient population that is in an electronic and computable format
  • Description of export’s format
  • Instructions for the setup and how to obtain the single and population exports is available to all Streamline customers in the help desk documentation

Terms and Conditions of Use

EHI Export functionality allows for SmartCare to let patients download their EHI at any time independently. The files are CCDAs or patient summary documents that are XML-based exports meeting the standard defined by HL7. This type of file supports the exchange of documents between EHRs or other health information technology aligned with the ONC 2015 Edition certification for Meaningful Use. There is no additional cost for Streamline customers to access this functionality.

Data Included

The structure used in the SmartCare CCDA HL7 file is the standard HL7 format. The available sections are below with a link to the HL7 format.
